Steve Younis, lider de Superman Homepage, en su Blue Big Report mensual hizo un comentario muy importante acerca de Smallville.

"La gente suele pensar que la página Superman Homepage es anti-"Smallville", que odiamos el programa de televisión y queremos que muera.
No es cierto. Personalmente, soy un fan del show. No me he perdido un episodio. Sin embargo, yo no soy lo que muchos llamarian un "apologista". No voy a defender ciegamente el programa. Cuando es bueno voy a decir que es bueno, cuando es malo voy a decir que es malo.
La temporada 8, de lo que hemos leído, suena mal. Sin embargo, tiene el potencial de ser muy buena.
Sin Lex, Sin Lionel, Sin Supergirl, y poco de Lana, La temporada 8 podría enfocarse a seguir viendo a Clark tomando pasos importantes hacia el manto de Superman.
O podría ser utilizado para introducir dos nuevos villanos, Doomsday y Tess Mercer, y traer de vuelta a Oliver Queen.

Esto podría ser bueno en un aspecto. Creo que Tom Welling y Erica Durance hacen un excelente equipo. Hay buena química ahí. Sin embargo, sabia historia, parece plausible y se apresuraron a Clark para estar en esa posición. Por otra parte, Lex no es todavía propietario del Daily Planet? ¿Contratará a Clark?
Al parecer, unos meses han pasado de entre el final de temporada 7 y la 8, donde esta empieza. Estoy suponiendo que Lex ha vendido sus acciones del Daily Planet, allanando el camino para un nuevo Editor (Perry White?) Para contratar el "más rápido mecanógrafo" en Metropolis.

Así que dudo que en la Temporada 8 al final de temporada, podamos ver la conclusión en la que se ve a Clark vestirse con los colores familiarrojo, azul y amarillo.

People often think that the Superman Homepage is anti-"Smallville", that we hate the TV show and want it to die.
Not true. Personally, I'm a fan of the show. I haven't missed an episode. However, I'm not what many people refer to as an "apologist". I won't defend the show blindly. When it's good I'll say it's good, when it's bad I'll say it's bad.
Season 8, from what we've read, sounds bad. Yet it has the potential to be very good.
With no Lex, no Lionel, no Supergirl, and little Lana, Season 8 could potentially see the focus remain on Clark taking major steps towards the mantle of Superman.
Or it could be used to introduce two new villains, Doomsday and Tess Mercer, and bring back Oliver Queen.
Either way, there are questions that need to be answered. Such as, how will they explain Lex Luthor's absence after he and Clark were last seen being buried under the falling Fortress of Solitude? How will they explain Lex Luthor's knowledge of Clark's secret? Will he lose his memory because of injuries sustained at the Fortress?
Obviously, for the sake of mythology, Lex cannot know Clark is Kal-El. He cannot be allowed to retain that knowledge. It just doesn't work in with the 70 years of known mythology. Regardless of the fact that Michael Rosenbaum isn't returning for Season 8, the fans need an answer on this question.
Jimmy has already once proposed to Chloe (during Season 7), however we've been told by The CW that Season 8 will see a Chloe/Jimmy/Doomsday love triangle. Yep, another love triangle in "Smallville". Just for something different.
Forget the fact that they're misusing the Doomsday character, let's call it a Chloe/Jimmy/Davis Bloome love-triangle just so those of us who are comic books fans don't suffer a brain aneurism at the thought of Jimmy and Doomsday vying for the love of the same woman.
With Allison Mack signing a new contract to ensure she's in every episode of Season 8, I guess the writers had to think up some kind of angle to keep Chloe involved. After all, initially it was revealed that Doomsd... er, Davis Bloome would be a love interest for Lois Lane. For all I know that may still happen. But since Chloe keeps getting short changed in "Smallville", they probably figured it was about time she got some hunky guy showing some interest in her for a change.
I mean, let's face it, they're gonna be giving her yet another slap in the face when Clark Kent basically takes her job at the Daily Planet in Season 8.
That's right. Clark Kent, the young man who barely went to college, has no journalism training or diploma, will land a job as a reporter, writing for "a great metropolitan newspaper". His writing buddy? Lois Lane.
Lois and Clark (has a nice ring to it) will find themselves teamed up, experiencing all kinds of wacky adventures, that will put Clark in a tight spot when it comes to him using his powers to save the day.
This could be good in one respect. I think Tom Welling and Erica Durance play off each other well. There's good chemistry there. However, story wise, it seems implausible and rushed for Clark to be in that position. Besides, isn't Lex still owner of the Daily Planet? Would he hire Clark?
Reportedly, a few months will have passed by between the Season 7 finale and where Season 8 picks up. I'm guessing Lex will have sold his interests in the Daily Planet, paving the way for a new Editor-in-Chief (Perry White?) to hire the "fastest typist" in Metropolis.
Still, without his glasses and mild-mannered alter-ego, you have to wonder how the writers will get around the fact that Lex, Lois, Jimmy, Perry and everyone else at the Daily Planet, won't recognize Clark Kent as being Superman, when Clark finally decides to don the blue tights and red cape.
That's if they care about that aspect of it at all.
I have my doubts they do. The "No Flights. No Tights" rule, according to Allison Mack, is a rule stipulated by Tom Welling himself. The man doesn't want to wear the Superman costume. So I'm doubting, if Season 8 is indeed the final season, we'll ever see a conclusion that sees Clark donning the familiar red, blue and yellow suit.
Pity...
